In addition to being the Chairman of Tabreed’s Board of Directors, Dr. Bakheet Al Katheeri is the Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala’s UAE Investments platform. The platform is Mubadala’s national investment vehicle contributing to accelerate the transformation of the UAE’s economy by building national world class champions, fostering vibrant industrial and commercial clusters, and partnering with world-class global entities.
In this role, Dr. Bakheet spearheads the platform’s growth and strategic direction while steering its portfolio of national champions in multiple sectors, including energy, metals, aerospace, technology, healthcare, real estate, and infrastructure.
With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Dr. Bakheet’s expertise in the energy and industrial sectors is widely recognized. He serves on various industry boards and committees in the UAE, including Cepsa, Oil Search, Mubadala Energy, Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA), Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), and National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed).
Dr. Bakheet holds a BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering and applied Mathematics from the University of Tulsa (Oklahoma, USA) and MSc in Environmental Science from UAE University. He also holds an Executive MBA from HCT, UAE and a Doctorate of Business Administration from the College of Business and Economics, UAE University.
Paulo Almirante is currently Executive Vice President of global energy leader ENGIE. Mr. Almirante is a member of ENGIE’s Executive Committee in charge of Brazil; Middle East, South and Central Asia and Turkey; North, South and Eastern Europe and Generation Europe.
Mr Almirante is a board member of numerous ENGIE group companies.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Production Management and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Thermodynamics from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal.
Dr. Alyazia Ali Al Kuwaiti is the Executive Director of the Energy portfolio in Mubadala, responsible for ensuring the effective management of its global energy operating companies, including oversight of their business plans, growth strategies and overall performance.
Dr. Alyazia’s corporate boards experience is primarily in the energy and industrial sector, with a strong record in financial and strategic value creation. In January 2021, she was nominated as a member of Mubadala’s Investment and Business Planning Committee, which approves incoming transactions across the entire group of sectors including technology, financial services, real estate, healthcare, consumer and others.
A leading female figure in the UAE’s energy investments sector, Dr. Alyazia plays an active role in accelerating the professional development of young Emiratis and is a strong advocate for the advancement of women in both the local workforce and, more broadly, in the international Energy scene.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Portobello College in Dublin, Ireland; a Master’s in International Business from the University of Wollongong in Dubai; and a PhD in Business Administration from UAE University on the topic of Corporate Governance in Publicly Listed Companies in UAE stock markets.
Saeed Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, is an Executive Board Member at Ali & Sons Holding LLC. His current role includes committee board membership of the executive committee and the audit committee.
Furthermore, Mr. Al Dhaheri is the Managing Director of the Investment where he oversees Real Estate, Public & Private Equities and Venture Capital.
Prior to joining Ali and Sons Holding, he worked at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority as an Analyst
Mr. Aldhaheri holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from the American University in Dubai.
Mansoor Al Hamed was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Energy in 2021 and Managing Director in 2024. Prior to such appointments, he held the position of Chief Growth Officer where he was responsible for all new business development and Mergers & Acquisitions activities at Mubadala Energy.
He brings with him more than 15 years of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry and across various disciplines of business leadership.
Before joining Mubadala Energy, he worked in a highly diversified private sector business based in the UAE, gaining experience across commercial and managerial roles held in various business sectors.
Mansoor holds a BSc degree in Business Administration from the American University in Dubai and two MSc degrees from Abu Dhabi University and National Defense College in Abu Dhabi.
Musabbeh is the Executive Director of Low Carbon Solutions & International Growth Directorate at ADNOC. This new business directorate, created in November 2022, is focused on driving investments in new energies and low-carbon solutions as well as international growth in areas such as gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and chemicals.
He is also a board member of Masdar, a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable development, Tabreed, a UAE-based regional utility leader, and Emirates Global Aluminium, the world’s largest ‘premium aluminium’ producer and the biggest industrial company in the UAE outside oil and gas.
Musabbeh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Sciences in Geoscience from Imperial College, London.
Pierre CHEYRON is the Managing Director of Global Business Line Client Solutions and member of the operational executive committee of ENGIE, reporting to the COO of the group.
Until recently, Pierre was the Chief Executive Officer of ENGIE Southeast Asia, leading one of the fastest growing key business clusters in the Asia Pacific organisation towards Zero-Carbon Transition by delivering integrated solutions to its customers.
An experienced business leader, living across many Asian countries for more than a decade, Pierre joined ENGIE in 2011 as CEO of Cofely Southeast Asia, and then overseeing all Service activities of ENGIE in the Asia Pacific region from 2015 to 2018.
With ENGIE’s focused growth within the Asia Pacific region, his role expanded in 2019 to cover all activities of ENGIE in the diverse and fast developing countries in Southeast Asia, leading over 2,000 employees offering suites of client solutions in energy efficiency and sustainability for commercial buildings, industries and cities, as well as developing renewable energy and gas distribution projects.
Prior to ENGIE, Pierre was with Alcatel-Lucent in various key management roles in Asia and Europe. He was appointed President of the Malaysian French Chamber of Commerce & Industry from 2011 to 2015 and is currently a member of the board with the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.
Janis Rey Lozada has been the Managing Director of Engie Energy Local Infrastructures since October 2023. She has over 20 years of professional experience in the infrastructure and environmental services sectors in various countries across Europe and Latin America. She has held several key positions, including CEO of Vinci Highways in Peru, Board Member of Vinci Highways in Colombia, Country Director of Veolia in Venezuela, Country Director of Veolia in Peru, Director of Sustainable Development Latam at Proactiva Medio Ambiente (FCC-Veolia), and member of the Excom Latam at Veolia.
Janis has been an Economic Advisor to France since 2013. She graduated from the prestigious National School of Administration, ENA (France). She is the President of the Association of Cold and Heat Network Companies of Spain, ADHAC, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Energy Services Companies, ANESE.
Geert Bunkens is the VP Regional Hub for AMEA and VP of Finance for AMEA at ENGIE. He is based in Dubai and brings to the table extensive experience in project financing, financial planning and analysis, profit-and-loss leadership, and mergers and acquisitions.
Geert joined ENGIE’s project finance team in 2005 and quickly advanced his career. He managed corporate financing in Belgium and Australia, led regional corporate finance operations, and served as CFO Asia Pacific in Singapore from 2018 to 2021. He holds a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering, majoring in Finance, as well as a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium.
Khalid Al Marzooqi was officially announced as CEO of the National Central Cooling Company PJSC (Tabreed) on the 17th of May, 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the energy sector.
Before joining Tabreed, Al Marzooqi was Chief Operating Officer of Dolphin Energy Limited, overseeing the Downstream Division in the UAE, prior to which he held the position of Senior Vice President of Dolphin’s Technical Services Division. In addition to these roles, he occupied senior roles at the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), and ADCO.
During his time as COO-Downstream at Dolphin Energy Limited, Mr. Al Marzooqi was responsible for overall direction of Operations, Technical Services, and Business Support, ensuring uninterrupted gas supply to customers in the UAE and Oman. As Senior Vice President of Dolphin’s Technical Services Division, he provided mid to long term solutions addressing safety, operability, reliability, projects expansion and integrity issues for the company’s assets in the UAE and Qatar.
During 2008-2009, Al Marzouqi worked for the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport. In his capacity as Executive Manager, he was responsible for the public transport section which designed, developed, and launched the current Abu Dhabi bus system.
Earlier in his career, Khalid spent nine years at the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), where he was senior maintenance manager for two power/desalination plants in the western region of the emirate. Prior to that, Khalid Al Marzouqi worked at ADCO between 1992-1995 as a petroleum engineer with responsibilities ranging from drilling, wire line, and production.
Al Marzooqi has over twenty five years of experience in the energy industry and holds two majors in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering.
Mr. Adel Salem Al Wahedi brings a wealth of 25 years of experience to the company in the fields of corporate finance, mergers, and acquisitions, statutory accounting, budgeting, planning, costing and strategic decision making. Al Wahedi has a proven track record as a business leader in both private and public companies in KSA, Egypt, Sudan, and the region.
Prior to joining Tabreed, he served as Group CFO of Arabtec Holding Company PJSC, and prior to that, he served as CFO for some of the largest entities in the UAE including Abu Dhabi Ports Company and Petrofac Emirates, in addition to holding senior positions at Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat).
Al Wahedi also has considerable experience working in companies that have highly technical operations at their core.
Al Wahedi holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce from United Arab Emirates University with a Major in Accounting.
Antonio Di Cecca was appointed as Tabreed’s Chief Operating Officer in January 2022. He joined the company after having spent 11 years with ENGIE, where he performed numerous roles in the global district cooling industry, most recently as Head of Asset Management at the group’s Dubai headquarters.
Antonio has over twenty years of international experience within the energy sector, including a period of five years with the International Energy Agency (IEA). He is also an active member in many district energy associations, as well as the technical committee of the World Utility Congress. Di Cecca is fluent in Italian, French, Spanish and English, and has a Master in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (Turin, Italy), and a Specialised Master in Energy Engineering and Management from the Ecole de Mines de Paris (Paris, France).
Dr. Yousif Al Hammadi is the Chief Asset Management Officer at Tabreed, leading the company’s Asset Management operations across its portfolio.
Dr. Yousif joined Tabreed in 2014, bringing with him more than 13 years of diversified experience in the Ministry, Oil and Gas and Construction sectors. During his 10 years at Tabreed, he has held various positions such as Executive Vice President – Key Stakeholders and Government Relations, Head of Business Development and Senior Vice President – Projects, and has been instrumental in expanding Tabreed’s portfolio of district cooling projects across the GCC.
In addition to his operational roles, Dr. Yousif holds Board positions in various companies such as DDCP, SNC-Lavalin Gulf Contractors, Emirates Preinsulated Pipes Industries (EPPI), Ian Banham & Associates and Chairman of the Board for Tabreed Parks Investments.
Prior to joining Tabreed, Dr. Yousif was Vice President of Mubadala’s Construction Management Unit, where he contributed to delivering key projects in Abu Dhabi, including Zayed University, Paris Sorbonne University, Rosewood Hotel and New York University.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Yousif also worked for renowned organizations such as ADNOC and Ministry of Interior in the UAE.
Dr. Yousif holds a Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (Honors), Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Administration from the Higher Colleges of Technology (Distinction), Abu Dhabi, as well as a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management (Honors) from Abu Dhabi University.
Philippe Coquelle joined Tabreed from ENGIE, where he has performed numerous roles in Project Management, Business Development, Project Finance and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) worldwide since joining in 2001, most recently as Corporate M&A Director at the Group’s Paris headquarters. For more than 20 years he has operated within the international energy sector, having worked in Paris, London, Brussels, Panama and Dubai. He spent four years in the UAE between 2014 and 2018, focusing on the development and project financing of power and water infrastructure across the Middle East, is fluent in French, Spanish and English, and has a Master in Energy and Environment from University of Brussels (Brussels, Belgium), and a Master in Finance from the London Business School (London, UK).
Nadia Bardawil is a senior lawyer who has spent more than fifteen years working on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects in MENA and Europe. She spent 12 years at global law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP before joining Masdar as General Counsel, where she won numerous awards for leadership and promotion of diversity and inclusion and was named as a Chambers GC Influencer on their 2019 UAE list. Her most recent role was Senior Legal Advisor to Mubadala, where she was responsible for managing some of the group’s largest global assets. Nadia was awarded her LL.B degree, with Honours, at London’s Brunel University in 2003, and qualified for the Bar in England and Wales in 2008.
